This combination of pickups is hard to beat if you’re looking for a muscular P/J style set. This combination supplies impact and edge with absolutely no noise interference. The strength of this pickup combo is pronounced through its clarity, establishing cutthroat personality that resonates at the mid range while the pleasant but present high end perpetuates its lucidity. The only way to improve the power in this combo would be to turn to the NP4A in order to add a little extra hard hitting gusto—which is of course a natural derivative of the thick coil synonymous with the angled pole design. Other than that, the NPJ4SE is pretty much the end of the road in terms of muscular resilience and cooperation between precision and jazz style tone.

History: The tone produced by the NJ4SE combination is one that was designed to make an impact in both jazz and precision styles of playing. The meld of our standard P with a split coil enamel wound J fuses the best aspects of these pickup’s varying dimensions of tone, resulting in a combination of two pickups designed to compliment the negatives of the other’s positives. In choosing this combination, you surely will not be disappointed by their strength and intricate character.
